El 1° de febrero y por segundo año consecutivo partirá desde el puerto de Buenos Aires el cuarto crucero temático de la temporada de MSC Cruceros: el Crucero del Circo, pensado y diseñado para disfrutar en familia.

En su extensa superficie de 14.000.000 km2, cubierta por glaciares en casi su totalidad, conviven cuatro especies de pingüinos -adelia, barbijo, papua y emperador- albatros, petreles, pardelas, skuas, gaviotines, cormoranes y palomas antárticas, mientras que el mar que la rodea está poblado por diversos tipos de ballenas. Debido a las rigurosas condiciones climáticas, la vida silvestre se encuentra bastante reducida en el continente más frío, alto y ventoso del planeta, donde se registran vientos que superan los 200 kilómetros por hora.
Dentro de los singulares espectáculos que regala la Antártida a sus visitantes se encuentran las experiencia de poder contemplar focas y elefantes marinos durante toda la temporada; apareamientos de pingüinos y sus pichones que comienzan a aparecer a finales de diciembre; y grupos familiares de ballenas que se visualizan con mayor frecuencia entre enero y marzo. Para explorar esas maravillas australes pueden emprenderse itinerarios que varían entre diez y veinte días. Los más cortos tienen como destino a la Península Antártica y las Shetland del Sur, mientras que los más extensos incluyen también las islas Malvinas y Georgias del Sur. También existe diversidad en cuanto al tipo de embarcaciones -cruceros de lujo y buques de casco reforzado o rompehielos- que pueden transportar entre 50 y 500 pasajeros. Ambos estilos de barcos ofrecen la posibilidad de realizar descensos en botes de goma muy resistentes, llamados zodiacs. El continente blanco depara tres circuitos: al Noroeste de la Península Antártica se encuentra el archipiélago de la Isla Elefante e Islas Shetland del Sur, el área más cálida y colorida de esas tierras, con más de una decena de lugares para visitar donde se combinan glaciares, montañas y fiordos. Allí sorprende ver en las costas rocosas conjuntos de líquenes, musgos e incluso dos especies de flores. Numerosas colonias de pingüinos de las especies Adelia, Papúa y de Barbijo escogen esta ribera durante el verano. Por su parte, la región Noreste de la Península Antártica alberga impresionantes bloques de hielo y la famosa Base Esperanza, estación científica de Argentina. En materia de naturaleza es factible de reconocer una gran población de pingüinos y diferentes especies de petreles. Finalmente, la costa Oeste de la Península Antártica presenta extensos estrechos, islas montañosas con altas cumbres, bahías protegidas y angostos canales. Dentro de los puntos factibles de visitar se destacan Bahía Paraíso, Puerto Locroy, Canal Lemaire, famoso por la belleza de su paisaje y por la presencia de numerosas ballenas.

Tips de viaje:

•    Los precios de los cruceros a la Antártida varían según la duración del viaje, el itinerario, el tipo de embarcación y la cabina y los servicios a bordo. Los costos varían entre U$S 4.000 y U$S 10.000 (todo incluido).

Abrirá en Buenos Aires, el 3 de enero, una de las mayores colecciones del mundo dedicada al cuarteto de Liverpool.
Una impresionante colección de fotos, discos, vestuarios y otras pertenencias de los integrantes de Los Beatles se abrirá en Buenos Aires la semana próxima. Los turistas que estén en la capital argentina para esa época podrán ser los primeros en recorrer la muestra que revive momentos y situaciones de John, Paul, Ringo y George. Este primer Museo Beatle de Latinoamérica está armado con fondos del argentino Rodolfo Vázquez, quien ingresó en 2001 al Libro Guinness de los récords con esta colección.
El lugar elegido para la muestra es el complejo La Plaza, donde desde el 3 de enero se podrán ver las 8.500 piezas, una de las mayores colecciones de objetos de “los fabulosos cuatro”.
Además, el público podrá asistir a la apertura de una sala teatral rebautizada con el nombre de John Lennon, y frecuentar el Cavern Club, un bar que desde hace varios años recrea la atmósfera del mítico club de Liverpool, donde los intérpretes comenzaron su carrera.
